Seravo's service is strictly optimized and intended only for WordPress websites, and installing other applications into your server space is not permitted.
While it is technically possible to upload any files to the server and run other PHP-based software alongside WordPress, running third-party applications may violate our terms of service. Every service package includes server space and maintenance specifically tailored for WordPress, and we offer no guarantees regarding the functionality of any other software.
Prohibited Applications and Maintenance Rights
If a customer attempts to run heavy, unauthorized applications on the server, we reserve the right to remove the software immediately and without prior notice if it disrupts the WordPress site's operation or degrades server performance.
Examples of prohibited applications include:
Database tools: phpMyAdmin (Seravo provides its own secure built-in tools for database management)
Cloud storage services: Nextcloud, ownCloud
Analytics software: Self-hosted Matomo, Piwik
Other similar standalone PHP-based systems.
What Is Allowed? If you have extra static files (such as HTML or PDF files) in a subfolder, or a very small, isolated PHP script that requires no maintenance and does not burden the server, we will generally not interfere.
Impact on the Security Guarantee and Maintenance Fees
Installing other applications has a direct impact on your website's security and support:
Voiding the Security Guarantee: Seravo's security guarantee is not valid if anything other than WordPress is installed in your server space. We can only take responsibility for the automated testing and updating of WordPress and its plugins. In some cases, our automated security monitoring may remove third-party applications automatically if vulnerabilities are detected.
Additional Costs: If third-party applications cause extra work for Seravo’s maintenance or customer support teams, we reserve the right to charge the customer an additional fee for maintenance work that falls outside the standard service package.
Recommendations for Using Other Applications
If you need to run services like Nextcloud or Matomo analytics, we highly recommend purchasing them directly from a specialized service provider (SaaS) or acquiring separate, general-purpose server space for self-managed hosting. This ensures that your WordPress website remains fast, secure, and fully optimized within Seravo’s environment.
